It is six seasons since Colchester United last tasted victory over Oldham Athletic at Boundary Park.
Central defender David Greene and Lomana Tresor Lua Lua scored the goals in a 2-1 win and Steve Whitton was just beginning his four-year reign as the U's manager.
Since then the men from Layer Road have picked up just one point from four outings, a 1-1 draw courtesy of a goal from former U's player-of-the-year Mick Stockwell.
Life won't be any easier for Phil Parkinson's men tomorrow as they become the fifth opponents to take on Brian Talbot's squad in Coca-Cola League One action this term.
Only Wrexham have emerged triumphant so far, 3-2 in the second game of the season, while Walsall (5-3), Milton Keynes Dons (3-0) and Hartlepool (3-2) have all been sent home with their tails between their legs.
