Hardman character actor Tony Longhurst has been putting his hairy chest to good use.
In his latest part, the Frinton actor plays a boxer - with a bare chest. So, when he needed it waxed, he decided to have it done for charity.
Staff at beauty salon Perfect Bliss in Connaught Avenue helped raise £30, which will go to buy electric reclining chairs for cancer sufferers at Colchester's Essex County Hospital - a campaign launched by another Frinton shopkeeper, Teresa Marks, who runs a fish shop and a fish and chip shop in the town.
The film, Long Live the King, which is being shot locally, tells the story of the 1937 world boxing heavyweight title fight between James Braddock and Joe Louis.
