A Harwich pub has failed in its bid for permission to stay open until 1am every night.
Dean and Jo Bull, from The Billy pub in West Street, Harwich, applied to extend the opening hours for an extra 22 hours per week.
The Billy is currently open from 12.30pm to midnight from Monday to Saturday. The application was for 11am to 1am on Monday to Saturday, and noon until 1am on Sundays.
But at a meeting of the licensing sub-committee of Tendring Council, the application was thrown out.
Jose Powell, chairman of the committee, said: "We feel the quality of life for residents is paramount."
There were 13 letters of objection.
