Dynamic Daphne Saitch, the pride of Basildon Ladies Golf Club after some great successes, did it again with a triumphant performance on the Eden Course at the home of golf, St Andrews.
Playing in the finals of the National Association of Public Golf Courses UK Championship in force six winds, Saitch won the scratch prize in a field of some 50 or so regional finalists from across the country.
She started off a little hesitantly and needed a little time to acclimatise herself to the difficult conditions.
After four holes Saitch was four over her handicap, but in her usual precocious fashion she kept her head down, pulled her game together, and finished one under handicap to take the Championship.
And Saitch was well rewarded for her efforts.
As well as the prestigious trophy she was presented with an all expenses paid holiday in Spain, including three rounds of golf.
