Warnings are being issued to youngsters after an 11-year old boy was involved in a collision with a car in Maldon.
Paramedics have said the boy, who has not been named, had a "lucky escape" following the accident outside the town's police station, in West Square, near the High Street at 3.36pm yesterday.
Both police and paramedics are now reminding children to be more vigilant when they cross the road and remember their Green Cross Code.
Paramedic Mark Harrington said: "The 11-year old lad has escaped serious injury."
