Motorists could be in for rush hour headaches when major roadworks on one of the main roads into Chelmsford get under way.
The £2.7million overhaul will include footpath improvements, road resurfacing and drainage works to the A414 from Danbury to Chelmsford.
Another £2.9million has already been allocated by Cllr Rodney Bass (con, Tollesbury) for work on the A414 between Chelmsford and the M11 junction at Harlow, which will start this month.
And this extra work on the opposite side of town will mean even more improvements to the town's roads, a spokesman for Essex County Council's highways department said.
