DOGGETTS regular Ian Simmons landed the heaviest mirror carp ever pulled out of the Rochford lake.
During ideal conditions and using his own bait and rigs Simmons hooked the 32.5lb fish within feet of the bank.
The first run took 70-yards of line, crossing several other anglers' lines, but not tangling.
The fish was hooked and landed after dark following a 30 minute battle in warm stormy conditions.
Four people including the fishery manager witnessed the weight of the fish on two sets of reputable scales.
After posing for numerous photos and showing no sign of stress the carp was returned to pack on even more weight.
