SOUTHEND United winger Michael Husbands is disappointed at being placed on the transfer list by the Shrimpers.

The speedy former Aston Villa trainee has figured just twice for the League Two side so far this season and has now been made available by Blues boss Steve Tilson.

"The gaffer approached me and asked whether I would like to go out on loan and I'm a bit disappointed really," said the 20-year-old "I feel like I'm not wanted at Southend and I don't think I'm going to be given a chance here to be honest.

"The manager went on record during the summer saying I would be given a go but I don't think that has happened."

Husbands claims he worked hard in pre-season and does not think he played badly in any of the games.

"I've done well in the reserves too, scored a goal and still can't get in the 16, so maybe it might be better if I left," added Husbands.

"I haven't been given a fair crack of the whip and I think the Southend fans can see that too. It's unfortunate how things have worked out."
