An 82-year-old woman died two weeks after confronting burglars in her home.
Iris Godfrey was involved in a "physical altercation" with one of the raiders at her Widford Park Place home in Chelmsford on August 12. She was pushed to the floor before the burglars left the flat with £1,000.
The trauma of the ordeal led her to move to another house as she feared for her safety.
Mrs Godfrey was later taken ill and died at Broomfield Hospital on Wednesday, August 25. But an Essex Police spokeswoman said a post mortem examination revealed she died from natural causes and they were not connecting her death with the burglary.
Detectives have issued CCTV images of two men they would like to trace following the incident.
