Rogue parkers are to face the biggest clampdown to date.
Here they come - Tendring's new traffic wardens pound the beat with officers from Tendring Council
From October 1, Tendring Council is set to take over the task of patrolling the district's streets from the police.
It will see the end of it being a criminal offence to park badly - but a new team of wardens will be out in force to catch the culprits and serve them with penalty charge notices.
From next Friday, 13 full-time wardens will be pounding the streets - with the number later increased to meet the demand.
For the past year, there have only been three dedicated traffic wardens in the district.
People who break the rules will be fined £60, which is reduced to £30 if the notice is paid in 14 days. It is increased to £90 if the payment is not made or there is no response to letters.
