FORMER Southend United midfielder Neil Jenkins believes there is "very little difference" between the standard of the Conference and League Two.
The former England under-20 international returns to Essex with his new side Crawley Town tonight to take on Canvey Island at Park Lane.
And Jenkins, who was released by the Shrimpers at the end of last season, believes both teams could hold their own in League football.
"There is virtually no difference at all between the two levels," said Jenkins.
"The top half teams in the Conference would definitely stand their ground in League Two, but maybe the bottom teams aren't so good. It's not a bad standard at all though."
Gulls boss Jeff King is not expecting many changes from Saturday's line-up and names an unchanged squad as he seeks a first home win from his team.
He said: "I don't pay much attention to us not winning at home yet.
"Our performances generally have been just as good at Park Lane as on opposition territory, where we're unbeaten and have won twice."
