About a hundred members of the public experienced a slice of medieval life at Cressing Temple Barns.
A group of eight enthusiasts called The Household dressed up in replica period costume and attempted to re-create a typical 15th century middle-class household for the event yesterday.
The team performed in the rooms around the barns in various household and trade roles including as cooks, a silk-weaver, a furrier, a calligrapher, butler and servants.
The Household perform about four times a year with the other events taking place at old houses in Belgium, France and Switzerland.
One of the cooks even served up garden weeds a culinary speciality of the medieval era - from the Cressing Temple grounds.
