Coastguards at Mersea were called out twice at the weekend.
West Mersea inshore lifeboat and Mersea coastguard went to the aid of the crew on board the yacht Jasmine after the boat suffered a broken rudder and drifted ashore at West Mersea. It was towed safely back to its mooring.
The inshore lifeboat then helped Dabchicks Sailing Club rescue boat fetch an injured crewman from a sailing dinghy in the river Blackwater.
The casualty was landed safely at West Mersea and transferred to hospital by ambulance.
