THE incredible scoring feats of striker Danny Hockton played a major part as Billericay avoided a potential FA Cup giant-killing.
The one-time Millwall man grabbed another brace to bring his tally to 10 from the 14 the team have managed this season to bury the challenge of their plucky Essex Senior League hosts.
Manor, who had pulled off a superb replay success over Fords Sports Daventry in the preliminary round, found Manor giving as good as they got with some enthusiastic play in the opening stages.
But, once Hockton had put the Ryman Premier visitors ahead with a 34th-minute effort there was only one winner.
Not that the basically young Manor side made things easy for their big-time visitors.
James Paviour in the home goal, surely destined for higher things on the evidence of this display, produced a string of fine saves.
But Town's new signing from Braintree, Bertie Brayley, made it 2-0 - the ex-West Ham youth star and Canvey Island man striking on the 55 minute mark.
Hockton grabbed the third 20 minutes from time following a handling offence in the box and, although Billericay left with the spoils and prize money of £2,250, Manor can look back with pride on their best Cup run for many years. And they will have their share of the crowd receipts from a far larger than normal attendance of 232.
In the region's other FA Cup ties, Aveley gleefully won their way through to today's FA Cup second qualifying round draw when a crowd of 89 saw them beat Southern League Division One East colleagues Berkhamsted 2-1 at home.
Goals from John Whitaker and Nathan Elder saw them on their way to victory before the visitors replied through Mullins.
But Tilbury saw their hopes of a Cup run ended when they lost 1-0 at Leyton. Chris Bangura grabbed the only goal with an 87th-minute header.
