FIVE men who were in the Billericay Town line-up for their famous 1979 FA Vase final win will be playing in Sunday's silver anniversary game at New Lodge.

Goalkeeper Paul Norris, defender Phil Whettell plus midfielders Billy Bingham, Tony Wakefield and David Groom will all pull on their boots again to face a Justin Edinburgh XI to mark the 25th anniversary of Town's Vase treble.

The club won the Vase in 1976, 1977 and 1979 at Wembley.

From the earlier Vase winning sides taking part will be goalkeeper Steve Griffiths and Ricky McQueen, while other heroes of Vase glory watching the game will be Doug Young, Arthur Coughlan and John Pullin.

The line-up includes the two men who went on from New Lodge to enjoy distinguished careers at Football League level, West Ham's Steve Jones and Gillingham's Danny Westwood.

Managing the Billericay side will be John Newman, who led Town to their first two Vase triumphs, with Dave Emerick as coach.

Justin Edinburgh's squad is packed with stars from the League and is as follows: Eric Doherty, Andy Polston, Neil 'Razor' Ruddock, Clive Wilson, Dean Austin, Steve Tilson, Paul Brush, Paul Allen, David Kerslake, Colin Calderwood, Mark Robson, John Gorman, Matt Jones, Robert Lee, Jimmy Neighbour and Peter Taylor.

Sunday's match kicks-off at 2pm.
