Totteham Hotspur are aiming to tap into the club's popularity in the mid-Essex area by launching a children's mini-soccer league.
According to Laurence Keeys, Spurs' community project officer, the district is a hotbed for Tottenham fans.
"We're very popular here and that's one of the reasons why we're setting the league up," said Keeys.
Another reason is to find young gems players who could one day go on to turn out for Spurs' first team.
"If someone stands out then the club will obviously be interested," said Keeys.
"But I must stress that this league is for players of all abilities."
The league is set to start on Saturday, October 22, and all games will be played at Braintree Leisure Centre.
Training sessions, which will be taken by FA-qualified Spurs coaches, will begin on Monday, September 20.
