West Ham boss Alan Pardew is promising a new-look side as his team return to Upton Park for the first time since the international break.

Ready for a rest? - Rufus Brevett could have a chance for a break following Chris Powell's arrival

The Hammers went into the lay-off with a hugely disappointing defeat at Coventry City, but a flurry of transfers and an confidence-boosting win at in-form Sheffield United have lifted the mood ahead of tonight's clash with Rotherham.

Despite the disruption caused by international call-ups, Pardew believes the 10-day gap between games helped the side.

"We have been able to get some useful work done with the players who were here," he said. "We had the most of the midfield available, both the full-backs were here and we were happy with what we could do.

"Coventry was a very disappointing result. It was a close game that we had dominated and losing it wasn't good on our part but we have bounced back from that."
