Pablo Counago has delivered a defiant message to his critics - insisting he does have a future at Ipswich Town.
The striker scored one and made the other in a heroic cameo appearance during Sunday's 2-0 Coca-Cola Championship success against Millwall. But whether he stays much longer to help the team build on their flying start - they are top of the table - remains to be seen.
The Spaniard is available to leave on a free transfer and, because of his high salary, Town are believed to be keen to get him off the wage bill at Portman Road.
But Counago, busy preparing for the Championship clash at Stoke City, said: "It's very important I carry on scoring goals for Ipswich.
"There's been a lot of talk about me leaving but, now that the transfer window has shut, I feel I can concentrate on my job.
"I really want to do well, despite what some people say about my attitude or commitment."
Town boss Joe Royle was certainly full of praise for Counago on Sunday.
He said: "He's a special talent. He's strong for his size and can be a real potent force for us."
