Controversial plans for an 85-stall Sunday morning street market in Billericay High Street are back in the melting pot.
Despite labelling last week's meeting as D-Day for the market's future, Billericay Town Council voted to put together detailed plans before making a final decision on the scheme.
Members were set to decide "once and for all" whether to proceed with the plans, which despite three years of work are still at an early stage.
The market - which would be open between 9am and 2pm on Sundays - has stirred up many local residents, with a number contacting their local representatives to back or oppose the plans.
Some are worried about congestion in the town centre, while others are concerned about the amount of rubbish the market will leave behind.
