A schoolboy from Brentwood will take his first steps on the ladder to fame and fortune this weekend when he competes in an international acting competition in London.
Cameron Crighton, an 11-year-old pupil from Shenfield High School, has won through to the finals of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) Awards in communication and performance.
He will now join 39 other hopefuls from across the UK and Ireland this Saturday in the competition sponsored by the Allied Irish Bank.
Cameron is one of the top five candidates in his category in this country and he will be competing against entrants from other UK and Irish schools for a cash prize.
