Alex Dowsett bagged his first ever open win at the Colchester Rovers ten-mile time trial.
The 15-year-old from Maldon and District Cycle Club took on a field of 40 experienced senior riders to clock a time of 20 minutes 18 seconds, with Glen Taylor of API Resprays coming second in 20m 36s on Saturday.
It topped off a good week for Dowsett, who continues to do battle with Gary Poole for club records at Maldon.
Last week he broke the club's record over the ten-mile Steeple course with a time of 21m 26s, a credible nine second's off the record.
Only three weeks earlier Poole had set a new club best time for ten-miles with a ride of 20.28 at Newmarket. This was beaten by Dowsett in Saturday's event in Colchester.
