A long-serving station worker was on the right track when was shortlisted for a top award.
David Roake, Frinton station ticket office clerk, was recognised in the railway Oscars - the National Rail Awards.
At the top awards held at the prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel, London, Dave, who lives in Frinton, was shortlisted by independent judges for the outstanding personal contribution award.
He has worked on the railway for 24 years and has been at Frinton since 1999, working single-handedly at the station.
One's area manager, Angela Thompson, said "There is no doubt that Dave works hard and the people of Frinton hugely appreciate his efforts.
