Sailing sensation Hannah Stodel is ready to prove she can mix it with the big boys by bringing home a gold medal from the Paralympics.
The 19-year-old will become the first woman to represent a Great British Sailing team in the prestigious event and believes she has what it takes to scoop the ultimate prize in Athens.
Stodel, from West Mersea, said: "I will be the only woman sailing in the games as the other countries do not have woman in their crew as they think men are stronger.
"But I've been working a lot on strength training, eating a lot of protein, and have bulked up for the challenge."
Stodel, who was born without a right forearm, added: "Gold is our aim and I believe we are more than capable of winning it."
Joining Stodel in the Sonar class will be helm John Robertson and Steve Thomas.
The trio have already experienced team success having won a bronze medal at the world championships in Athens last September.
