Kevin Watson today issued a warning to his Colchester United team-mates after scooping the U's first Player-of-the-Month award for this season.
The midfielder was voted the fans' star man after an impressive start to the new campaign and said: "Any player will tell you those sort of things do wonders for your confidence.
"It's great to know the fans are on my side. It makes me feel that everyone has accepted me into the fold."
But Watson added: "The lads here have got a lot of belief, but so many of the teams in our division are very much the same and I see the promotion race going right down to the wire.
"But we've not drawn a game yet and we can't go on winning one and losing one. We've got to learn how to grind out results when we're not playing well."
U's boss Phil Parkinson said: "Kev is a great passer of the ball, a very good talker and he's brought a lot of valuable experience to our midfield."
