Pounds are to be shed to make pounds by staff at a Maldon pub.
For 12 weeks, staff at the Queen Victoria in Spital Road will be trying to slim down in a bid to raise money for Children In Need, starting on Friday.
The competitors are landlady Mandy Cheek, 54, her son Phil, 17, and barmaids Emma Scrivener, 33, and Jane Clark, 40. To add a fun element to the challenge, the four staff have agreed to endure the weekly humiliation of a Friday night weigh-in to compare how they are doing.
Between them they are hoping to lose five or six stone before November 19, which coincides with Children In Need night.
Mrs Cheek said: "This is something we did years ago but we are a bit more mature now so the weight will not come off as easily."
Group and individual sponsorship forms are available from behind the bar.
