A new date has been set for a celebration to mark the 25th anniversary of Billericay Town FC winning he FA Vase for a unique third time.

The event will now be held on Sunday, September 19, at the club's New Lodge ground in Blunts Wall Road, Billericay.

It has been put back two weeks due to manager Justin Edinburgh reaching the grand final of the Masters football tournament with fellow former Tottenham pros.

The FA Vase and FA Trophy will both be at the celebration, giving supporters the rare chance to get their hands on both of non-league's most treasured silverware.

Both trophies will be on display from 1pm to 5pm, with a special football match due to kick-off at 2pm.

The gates will open at 12 noon and admission will be £5 for adults and £1 concessions. Details on advance ticket sales are available from www.btfc.net.

Andrew Turner, chairman of the Billericay Town Supporters Association, who is organising the event in association with the club, said: "We apologise to fans for any inconvenience caused by the change of date, but hope that they will still turn out in force for what promises to be a fantastic occasion.

"We are delighted that The FA Vase and FA Trophy are available to be here at the club on that day to help us celebrate the club's great past and future in non-league's most prestigious cup competitions."

A team of ex-Billericay Town stars from the 1970s and 1980s will take on a Justin Edinburgh XI and will play alongside Neil Ruddock, Paul Allen, Colin Calderwood, David Kerslake, Clive Wilson, Mark Robson, Jimmy Neighbour and Perry Suckling with further names to be announced in the run-up to the event.
