A film shot at Walton this summer by a lifeguard and his friends has won a top prize.
Winners - the makers of Lolly
The film, called Lolly, was written and shot by 31-year-old Paul Johnson, of High Street, Walton.
The low-budget film cost £5 when it was made in early July. Lolly won him the first prize in a short film competition, organised by Colchester company, Signals Media Arts.
The film was a romantic comedy and based on a lad working in the Colonnade seafront kiosk and his daydreaming about how to win the girl.
Lolly was shown at the Headgate Theatre, Colchester, and Paul and his friends received a trophy.
Paul said: "I'm very proud of my crew and cast and the owners of the seafront cafe intend to install a plaque to inform visitors that the award-winning film Lolly was shot there."
