Rayleigh's Fitzwimarc badminton club hope TV coverage of the sport in the Olympic Games, which included Britain's mixed doubles pairing of Gail Emms and Nathan Robertson winning a silver medal, will inspire people to take up their racquets locally.
There are many sports halls with clubs trying to enlist players, none more so than Fitzwimarc who have a five court sports hall at the Rayleigh School every Tuesday and Friday evening.
The new season starts on Tuesday, September 7, and Friday September 10, at 7.30pm.
Tuesday club nights are reserved for players of league standard and the club would only wish to invite experienced players to join who are able to support the league teams.
Friday club nights are for players who are of a reasonable standard who do not wish to play league badminton, but would enjoy a good sociable evening of badminton.
The Club therefore provides facilities for players of all standards and if you are interested in joining please call 01268 771914.
