Young golfers at Frinton are celebrating.
The coastal club's A team - immediate past junior captain Nick Sams and Ben Montgomery - pulled off a major victory after facing players from 30 clubs countywide in the Essex Boys Foursomes.
With the Gosfield Lake course lush, and playing long after the recent heavy rains, this 36-hole stableford played from scratch proved a considerable challenge to the 42 competing pairs.
The Gosfield greenkeepers had put in a real effort to present the course as well as could possibly be expected and the weather on the day was (fortunately) not unkind.
After the morning round Frinton A were in the lead with an excellent score of 34 points and, hot on their heels with scores of 33, were Channels B, Rochford Hundred A and Upminster B.
In the afternoon Frinton returned a score of 35 to clinch the Championship, Gosfield Lake A equaling this score to take the runners-up position. And for Nick it was a double celebration - he was 18 on Friday.
