Talent scouts will be on the lookout for future Olympic and world champions on Saturday, when the Southend Wheelers cycling club hosts skills tests.
Youngsters older than six are being invited to take their bikes along to the Thorpe Bay School playing fields on Southchurch Boulevard, and show off their talent. Wheelers member and British Cycling Club coach Chris Smith will put them through their paces.
Youngsters should take a helmet, a drink and suitable outdoor clothing.
Wheelers spokesman Graham Pearl said: "We are trying to pick the best kids for the Beijing Olympics and also to get more children into cycling."
The tests will start at 9.30am. People keen to join the Wheelers can go along at the same time. Call Chris Smith on 07929 961205.
