Thieves broke into a hospice shop and stole money from a charity box.
They took £20 from the box on the counter of the shop in Pallister Road, Clacton. There was also some damage to the front door.
PC Paul Redgewell, of Clacton police, said: "These callous thieves have taken a box of cash and caused damage to a shop that exists to raise money for a worthy cause."
