A drug dealer from west Essex has begun a four-year jail term after being caught with cocaine and cannabis.

Paul Rowe, of Hope Close, Mountnessing, was handed the sentence at Basildon Crown Court on Friday after being found guilty of possessing the drugs with intent to supply.

The 30-year-old, former deliveryman, was arrested in June 2003 at an address in Brentwood following a year-long police investigation.

Sergeant Sean McDermid, said Essex Police were "delighted with this outstanding result".

He added: "This operation has had an impact with a huge indent being made in the supply of cocaine in the local community here in Brentwood."
