Jason De Vos today predicted a bright future for Ipswich Town's maturing defence after their 2-1 success against Wolves.
The high-flying Blues made it four straight wins after yesterday's Coca-Cola Championship victory, thanks to goals from Darren Bent and Tommy Miller.
And, apart from one lapse in concentration for the goal conceded, it was another promising afternoon for the hosts' defence.
Boss Joe Royle heaped praise on his back four and centre-half De Vos told the Gazette: "We defended solidly.
"We're getting better and better and that comes with familiarity.
"The more we play together the better we're going to get, which obviously bodes well."
Canadian De Vos added: "It was a great win, considering Wolves have only just come down from the Premiership.
"They're one of the sides people will be looking at for promotion this season but we won convincingly.
"Their goalkeeper had to make a couple of excellent saves and we hit the woodwork twice, so we should have scored more.
"But in my opinion we only played well in spells. We can still do a lot better so the fact we're doing so well is encouraging."
