Two friends from Braintree will be putting on their running shoes and hot-footing it across London's Hyde Park to raise money for charity.
Kim Cureton, 33, of London Road, will be running the Flora Light Challenge with her friend Christine Hart, 38, on Sunday.
Mrs Cureton will be running to raise money for The Stroke Association which helped her father Brian Rawlings, 70, in Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge after he had a stroke last year.
She has been preparing to take part in the 5km run by going out training most nights and also gets help from her three young children aged five, seven and nine.
Mrs Hart will be running to raise money for the National Asthma Campaign because her son, Edward Nash, five, has the condition. She hopes to get about £100 from sponsorship.
