Colchester United maintained their challenge at the top of League One with a 4-1 win over Doncaster at Layer Road on Saturday.
Goals from Craig Fagan, Gavin Johnson, Greg Halford and a spectacular free- kick from Joe Keith gave the U's all three points.
There was not such good news for Southend United in League Two who have yet to win this season.
Bristol Rovers took all the points with a 2-1 victory on Friday night with a late winner from James Hunt.
Southend's Adam Barrett, facing his old club, had earlier cancelled out Lee Thorpe's opening goal.
In the Championship Ipswich Town overcame Rotherham 2-0 away on Saturday to keep up their challenge by going third in the table.
Town were indebted to striker Shefki Kuqi who bagged both goals for the visitors.
West Ham United also maintained their winning ways with a 1-0 home win against Burnley.
Adam Nowland got the decisive strike.
