The countdown to Southend Hospital's first elections is gathering pace.
The elections to the board of governors of the proposed NHS Foundation Trust will be held in October and nominations are arriving at the hospital in every post.
So far, more than 400 people have registered an interest in standing as a governor and acting as a link between members and the board of directors. Results will be announced on October 26.
Prospective governors must have already registered as members of the proposed foundation trust and attended one of the special briefing sessions, which are still taking place at the hospital. Any others wishing to stand for election have until September 16 to get their nomination papers in.
Membership application forms and a full list of dates and times of briefing sessions are available by calling 0800 0185202.
