Traders are to get their say on potential disruption to Maldon's High Street.
A consultation meeting is being held which will allow businesses to give their views on paving work which is to take place at the top of High Street.
There are concerns the disruption in High Street could have a major effect on the trade in town if members of the public find access to High Street more difficult and choose to stay away.
Essex County Council has arranged the meeting as it is responsible for the maintenance of Maldon streets.
Stuart Jennings, of Maldon District Council, said: "It is normal practice for the county council to engage interested parties for the proposed works in the town centre about how they are going to arrange it, time scales and operational issues that will arise."
The consultation is taking place on September 15 at the Maldon District Council offices in Princes Road.
