Rochford bowlers Frank Potton and Warren Sharpe have reached the finals of the London and Southern Counties Shield, to be played at Bounds Green on Saturday, September 4.
In the semi-final they took on opponents from Atherley Bowls Club, Southampton.
The game was played on the green of Loose Bowls Club at Maidstone, Kent.
However, with the Rochford duo bowling well, they opened up a gap.
With three-quarters of the game gone they led 16-8, but the Atherley pair were not going to lay down and still kept putting in good woods.
At the last end Rochford were leading by five shots at 23-18 and the opponents were holding three shots at the head with woods still to be played.
Super cool skip Potton bowled a super wood through the head and came out with the jack on the end of it and sealed the game for the Rochford pair at 24-18.
