Westcliff artist Stephen Jordan has opened his latest exhibition with a private viewing at Southend Central Library.
On show - Stephen Jordan is staging an exhibition
The exhibition, which opened on Tuesday night, portrays his vision of the Thames Estuary from Southend and the features that surround it.
He has called the show Estuarine.
Mr Jordan said: "It's a mix of things about where we live and the views we see.
"I hope it also shows some of the best bits of what makes the estuary.
"Southend has given Britain a unique voice and we have our own language - estuarine."
The artist's work focuses on the seafront and includes the groynes, gulls, yachts, beach huts and other items that form estuary scenery.
The exhibition is on show at the Victoria Avenue library from Wednesday, August 25, to Wednesday, September 22.
