Green-fingered fans of the garden will get a chance to enjoy the wonders of working the earth at the annual autumn show of the Leigh Horticultural Society.
The popular event pits growers against each other in competitions. Categories will include old favourites like dahlias, chrysanthemums, cut flowers and geraniums, as well as newer sections for patio containers, hanging baskets and growing herbs.
Members of the Manchester Drive Allotment Society will show their wares and compete for titles.
The event will be held at St Clement's Hall in Rectory Grove, Leigh, on September 4, at 2pm. Awards will be presented at 4.30pm.
Entry is free for members and accompanied children, non-members pay 50p, and there will be refreshments. Full details on 01702 711144.
