Mark Stimson's Grays flew to the top of the Conference South with an emphatic 6-0 demolition of Margate.
The Kent side, who had been in the Conference until ground difficulties forced them to drop down a level, were torn apart in a second-half display which saw the visitors rattle in five unanswered goals.
Liam George had set them on their way in the first half, opening the scoring on 26 minutes, and he doubled the lead on 54.
Three minutes later midfielder Martin Carthy made it 3-0, but there was still time for former West Ham trainee Freddie Eastwood to bag a brace, with Powell's 80th-minute effort sandwiched between them.
