It's certainly a case of Dan's the man down at Burroughs Park where Great Wakering fought out an entertaining six-goal draw with Erith last night.
In fact, to be more accurate, it's really Dan's the men as the twin strike force of Dan Trenkel and Danny Heale have now shared eight of the nine goals the village side have managed in their opening four games.
With torrential rain falling at the start of last night's affair, defending became a nightmare as the ball zipped quickly off the lush turf and five of the six goals scored came in the opening 36 minutes.
Lewis Woods put the visitors in front after 11 minutes with Trenkel levelling from Heale's knockback seven minutes later.
Experienced striker Joe Nartey, having been baulked by a great Mark Hardingham save, hit the rebound across goal where unfortunate home defender Paul Wheeler could only help it into his own net after 20 minutes.
But Rovers, with Paul Sammons battling superbly in midfield, once again equalised when Trenkel fired past visiting keeper Jani Seitsonen from long range after 36 minutes and went in front when Heale, brought down in the box by Wayne Brown, fired home a penalty nine minutes before the break.
Seitsonen did make one good save to deny Trenkel his sixth goal of the season, but Erith deserved their equaliser which arrived courtesy of defender Mark Cumberpatch 16 minutes from time.
