Southend striker Drewe Broughton admitted he was disappointed not to score during last night's 2-0 defeat against West Ham at Upton Park.
The tall target-man wasted Blues' best chance of the evening - somehow missing a six-yard header as Steve Tilson's side crashed out of the Carling Cup at the first hurdle despite producing an impressive display.
"I thought we played well - we were rarely out of their half after the break but we just need to be more clinical at the moment because we're not taking our opportunities," said Broughton.
"I should have scored and I'm very disappointed. The cross dropped over a couple of defenders so I didn't see the ball until quite late and it just ended up hitting me rather than me actually attacking the ball.
"We're just not getting the breaks right now though but we just need to keep believing, get through this together and hopefully turn the corner as quickly as we can."
