A brightly coloured tropical fish normally found in the Mediterranean was caught by a fisherman off Southend Pier.
The exotic rainbow wrasse, which has a green body with yellow stripes running down its back and red fins, was found at the weekend.
It is thought to be the first time the fish has been sighted in Essex.
