Old Southendian held out to secure a draw in their match with Benfleet at Southchurch Park.
The visitors won the toss and elected to bat. Benfleet's batsmen showed more application this week with the runs being spread around.
Paul Tremain (41) led the way with support coming from Joe Daly (37), Andy Prophet (35) and Mike Tremain (28).
Ben Jefferies (4-54) and Dave Slaughter (3-68) provided the biggest threat as Benfleet declared on 186-9 after 52 overs.
Chris Shaw (2-50) took two quick wickets to leave the Old Boys on 4-2 before Ron Steed (3-27) blitzed 3-7.
Old Southendian had made 49-6 at the start of the 20th over when Robert Johnston (43no) secured the draw with help from Slaughter (20) and Jefferies (6no).
