Southend United were today counting the cost of yet another break-in - the fifth in the past month.
Last Thursday the club installed £2,500 worth of CCTV cameras to deter the criminals but when staff turned up to work yesterday they discovered they had suffered another burglary.
A window of the Victoria Avenue offices had been forced and once inside, the thieves ransacked three rooms, leaving £5,000 damage without managing to steal anything.
Last week computers and three laptops were grabbed after crooks drilled around double-glazed windows and knocked them through with a hammer.
Anyone who knows anything about the latest break-in between 6.45pm on Sunday and 8.30am yesterday should call police on 01702 431212.
