The Southend Carers Forum was presented with £10,000 of European Social Fund money, administered locally by the Chelmsford-based Essex Community Foundation.
Forum information officer Dawnette Fessey said: "We're going to put it on the wall in pride of place.
It says: 'This project has been part financed by the European Union.'
"It's about keeping the money coming in so we can keep things going."
