A friend of a teenager who died suddenly is on top of the world. Well, nearly.
Nick Bareham scaled Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, to help raise money for CRY Cardiac Risk in the Young.
He and his friends raised £1,800 and they are hoping even more money may come in.
Nick was a friend of Frinton teenager Andy Gard who died just days before his 18th birthday suffering from sudden cardiac failure.
Nick and Andy were both promising members of Clacton Hockey Club.
Since then, Andy's parents Caroline and Peter Gard, of Glebe Way, Frinton, have campaigned relentlessly to raise money and increase awareness of sudden cardiac death. More than £90,000 has been raised to date.
Nick, who comes from Clacton, now works as a retail consultant in Pimlico, London
