In the late-afternoon sun on the NME stage Sussex songsters Keane chilled-out the V Festival.
With the majority of the crowd recovering from the rigours of a storming Faithless performance Keane provided the ultimate contrast.
While Faithless' brand of dance music is designed for big stages and a field full of people the opposite is true of the piano, drums and melodic vocals of Keane.
Not that you could criticise the effort of singer Tom Chaplin or pianist Tim Rice-Oxley, just their music is made for more intimate settings.
The band played hit single 'Everybody's Changing' second song in before dedicating 'Sunshine' to the fading sun.
Their fans cheered wildly at every new tune with 'Somewhere Only We Know' getting people singing as far away as the food vans.
The band seemed genuinely amazed at the reception they got and Tom gave an impassioned thank-you speech before performing their final song and latest single 'Bedshaped.'
