Promising netball youngster Louisa Brownfield is a targeting a place in the 2006 Commonwealth Games after recently touring with the England national and under-21 squads.

The Thundersley-based goal shooter, who attends SEEVIC college, produced a series of fine performances against sides in both Australia and New Zealand and is now hoping to become a regular at international level.

"I want to try and stay in the squads for as long as I can," said the 20-year-old.

"The tour was a great experience for me. It was the first time I'd been away with the squad and it was a real learning curve for me.

"We played a lot of games - against national and state sides - and suffered some mixed results.

"Individually I did OK though and scored a few goals but it was very enjoyable.

"I'd love to keep on going and get in the national side for the next Commonwealth Games which are also in Australia."

Brownfield was originally picked for England at junior level five years ago and is determined to maintain her place in the national squad.
